Dissemination is a key pillar of Sterope, ensuring that the project’s innovative solutions reach researchers, industry, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders. Since its launch, consortium partners have actively promoted the project through scientific conferences, technical workshops and high-level stakeholder events, steadily increasing the project’s visibility among scientific, industrial and policy communities.
Early dissemination activities included presenting the official Sterope project poster at several international events. BIOPLAT showcased the project during the BioCircular Summit 2026, held on 28 January 2026 in Madrid, Spain, highlighting Sterope’s integrated approach to converting industrial CO₂ emissions into renewable fuels for aviation and maritime transport.
Sterope was also represented at the 4th Annual Mission Ocean and Waters Forum, organised on 5 March 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. On this occasion, the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) presented the official Sterope poster, reinforcing the project’s relevance for maritime decarbonisation pathways and sustainable fuel deployment.
Continuing its outreach activities, Sterope was also featured at the event “Riding the Wave: Advancing the EU Ocean Pact through Science, Innovation and Cooperation”, organised by consortium partner CMMI on 11–12 May 2026. The official Sterope digital poster was displayed at the event exhibition, increasing the project’s visibility among stakeholders from the research, innovation and maritime communities. Organised in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the conference brought together representatives from EU institutions, research organisations, industry and innovation platforms to discuss how science and innovation can support the implementation of the future EU Ocean Pact.
In parallel, consortium partners have contributed to specialised workshops addressing clean fuels and industrial decarbonisation challenges. CMMI participated in the workshop “Cold-ironing challenges – The Cyprus case”, organised in Limassol, Cyprus, in collaboration with the Net-Zero-Emissions-CI project, presenting key technologies being developed within Sterope, including the marine gasifier and resistive load bank concepts supporting cleaner maritime operations.
Sterope has also expanded its scientific dissemination footprint through conference contributions led by several consortium members.
At the XV Convegno INSTM sulla Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali (Genoa, Italy, 7–10 June 2026), partners from the University of Genoa (UNIGE) — Antonio Comite, Ilaria Rizzardi, Andrea Iebole and Marcello Pagliero — presented the contribution entitled “STEROPE EU Project: Synergistic Advanced Carbon Capture Technologies for ConvERsion of Industrially Emitted CO₂ to Sustainable Production of Biofuels and Chemicals”, highlighting Sterope’s integrated approach to carbon capture and utilisation (CCU).
Sterope will also be featured at the World Downstream Forum 2026 (Bahrain, 7–9 September 2026), where HELLENiQ ENERGY, together with partners from CERTH, Maturus Optimi (MAT) and Analysis-DSC, will present the abstract “Transforming the European Downstream Sector via CO₂-to-e-Fuels & Hybrid Carbon Pathways: The case study of Eleusis Refinery”. The presentation will showcase the Eleusis refinery demonstration case and the role of hybrid carbon pathways in accelerating industrial decarbonisation.
Further strengthening its scientific dissemination activities, partners from the University of Genoa (UNIGE) are preparing a contribution for MELPRO 2026 – Conference on Membrane Materials and Processes, to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 4 to 7 October 2026. Featuring a dedicated topic on “Membrane technologies for CO₂ capture and utilisation”, the conference represents an ideal opportunity to showcase Sterope’s innovative carbon capture technologies. Pending abstract acceptance, the contribution will further strengthen the project’s visibility within the international membrane research community and foster exchanges with experts working on advanced CO₂ capture and utilisation technologies.
Further reinforcing its engagement with the downstream industry, HELLENiQ ENERGY will also participate in ERTC 2026 – European Refining Technology Conference (Madrid, Spain, 30 November – 3 December 2026), Europe’s leading downstream oil and gas forum. The event will provide another opportunity to showcase Sterope to key stakeholders from the European refining and industrial decarbonisation sectors.
Further strengthening the project’s outreach, Moravacem has applied to participate in the international conference Procesing 26, to be held in Serbia, where the project is expected to be presented through a poster entitled “Development of advanced technologies for carbon capture from industrial emitters”. Authored by Gorica Ivaniš, Ivona Radović, Mladen Crnomarković, Marcel Eijkenboom and Mirjana Kijevčanin, the contribution aims to promote Sterope in Serbia and the wider regional context. If accepted, the abstract will be published in the conference Book of Abstracts, while the poster will further strengthen Sterope’s visibility within the regional scientific community.
Through these activities, Sterope continues to strengthen its international presence, fostering knowledge exchange and reinforcing collaboration around carbon capture, CO₂ utilisation, renewable fuels and industrial decarbonisation. As the project progresses, dissemination activities will continue to expand through scientific conferences, industrial events and stakeholder engagement initiatives across Europe and beyond.
