The Sterope project was recently showcased by project partner Università degli Studi di Genova at the XV National Congress on Science and Technology of Materials, organised by the Italian National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) and held in Genova, Italy, from 7 to 10 June 2026.
The Congress brought together researchers, academics and industry representatives working across different areas of materials science and technology, providing a valuable forum for scientific exchange and collaboration.
The project was presented through the poster “Sterope EU Project: Synergistic Advanced Carbon Capture Technologies for Conversion of Industrially Emitted CO₂ to Sustainable Production of Biofuels and Chemicals”, showcased by Antonio Comite, Marcello Pagliero and Ilaria Rizzardi from the University of Genova.
In addition, Andrea Iebole highlighted the project during his presentation at the Congress’ Rising Stars session, raising awareness of Sterope’s innovative approach to carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technologies and their role in producing sustainable fuels and chemicals.
Participation in scientific events such as the INSTM Congress provides an important opportunity to disseminate project activities, exchange knowledge with the research community and strengthen collaboration around innovative solutions for industrial decarbonisation.
Through its participation in scientific events such as this, Sterope continues to engage with the research community and promote innovative pathways for transforming industrial CO₂ emissions into sustainable fuels and chemicals.
We thank our colleagues from the Università degli Studi di Genova for representing the project at this event.
